After 6 years of being together, Hunter feels ready to marry Yuna. He decides to plan his proposal with the help of his family — his cousin Cole, Cole’s best friend Andre, and Cole’s parents, Heather and Ember.

Hunter, however, couldn’t find the perfect engagement ring for Yuna, so his aunts suggested using his late mother’s ring, which his father designed and had commissioned.

Meanwhile, Yuna has been experiencing symptoms like overfatigue, nausea and vomiting, and cravings. Her parents, who are both doctors, suspect she is pregnant, but Yuna denies this, claiming she is just stressed from medical school.

Yuna eventually miscarries at 3 months. Both she and Hunter are unaware of her pregnancy, and they mourn the loss of their baby. They decide to name their baby Rue.
